Experience the true North Cape in an exclusive small group — with a living story about the people who have shaped this Arctic corner of the world for thousands of years. This journey blends culture, nature, and deep northern storytelling, taking you from the coastal communities of the Barents Sea all the way to Europe's northern frontier. People of the North – the History That Shaped the Coast The tour begins in Honningsvåg, where your guide introduces you to the story of the People of the North. Here you'll learn how fisheries, the ocean, and the harsh Arctic climate have forged a unique culture over more than a millennium. This is a vivid introduction to Arctic life — its resources, traditions, and the resilience that defines the people who live here. Gjesvær – Seabird Cliffs and Coastal Life We continue westward toward the small fishing village of Gjesvær, where the landscape opens toward the vast ocean. A place where history, fisheries, and Arctic wilderness meet, Gjesvær offers insight into how the sea has been the lifeline of generations living on this remote coast. Here we visit our traditional seaside boathouse, where you will taste a piece of northern history through local specialties — dried cod, reindeer meat, and traditional Norwegian waffles served with berry jam from our region. The boathouse sits directly at the water's edge, so you'll experience the elements and the ocean up close. North Cape – the Edge of Europe The journey continues up to the North Cape plateau, rising 307 meters above the Barents Sea. Here you encounter the iconic Globe Monument, dramatic cliffs, and one of the most extraordinary panoramas on earth. Your guide will share stories of early expeditions, local traditions, and the North Cape's role as one of the world's most storied lookout points. On clear days, the horizon bends toward the North Pole. On days with weather — and there is plenty of it — the North Cape reveals itself as the wild, raw, and powerful place it has always been. You will have approximately one hour of personal time to explore the visitor center and museum at your own pace. Return to Honningsvåg After the visit, the tour returns across the open mountain plateau back to Honningsvåg. A journey through Arctic culture, geography, and history — where the ocean, the people, and the landscape take center stage from start to finish.

We stayed at the Gargia Lodge in Dec '25. Despite some bad weather and clouds (even with projected Kp values as low as 1) we got multiple nights of lovely northern lights viewing, right outside our cabin doors. In fact we could check the sky through the window - and just step out when it was clear &...

The team is so helpful and they really take care to make it a good stay, very personal and considering. Like visiting friends y...
